Puddle is 4-5ft long - the hole is within the puddle so not seen - she was not travelling fast - had just come out of the car park. Badly repaired road surface following flooding repair work in recent cold snap, 9th April

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Mon, 04/09/2018 - 11:56
BADLY REPAIRED ROAD SURFACE - follow up to H72006443 reported to Slough Council last week. It would appear that the badly filled in mess left behind by Thames Water (?) has been PARTIALLY filled in but it was not a particularly good job as there are still holes which no doubt will become bigger potholes in time. How difficult is it for the workers to fill in a hole properly? Should this follow-up repair have been confirmed to the road dept at Slough Council by way of photographic evidence? Can Slough Council, on behalf of the council tax payers, issue a substantial fine to the company concerned? Would also like to have received an email response to H72006443 as originally requested. Would also be useful if there was someway to track an issue that has been raised. FYI the "Slough roadworks map (PDF) http://www.slough.gov.uk/downloads/roadworks-map.pdf is 4 years out of date. Any chance of this being updated? I will be posting this on https://www.fixmystreet.com/reports/Slough Your reference number is H72377108.

Cars parking on very narrow roads, 9th April

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Mon, 04/09/2018 - 11:34
This has been going going on for a while maybe a year or more and is now getting steadily worse, there was one car, now it's increasing. Caravan park has very narrow roads most are not big enough for two cars to pass. People have been parking consistently in the road instead of in their gardens or designated parking spaces. Yesterday there were 3 cars parked in the road which is starting to be worrying as if a caravan catches light and needs a fire engine quickly they won't be able to get through due to bad parking which isn't a good idea.

Incorrect speed limit, 9th April

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Mon, 04/09/2018 - 07:33
On Tuns Lane between the M4 junction 6 and the Copthorne Roundabout, the speed limit is 30mph. On the northbound side, traffic has just gone off the 70mph M4 or the 60mph Royal Windsor Way. The road does have sufficient signs to meet the legal requirements but, to a typically inattentive driver, it looks like a faster road. For those traveling southbound, it feels like a faster road than the roads drivers have just come from. As a driving instructor, I am aware that stretlights and a lack of signs mean it's a 30 limit but most drivers think it's where it's a "built up area". For this reason, if you try to drive down this road at 30mph, you will be endangered by traffic traveling significantly faster than you. This is especially difficult when traveling southbound with a new driver. As you approach the M4 junction roundabout, you're positioned correctly in the left hand lane but you need to get over into the middle lane to proceed onto Royal Windsor Way. With your speed at 30 and other cars traveling at 40, 50 or even more, this can be quite dangerous and scary for a novice driver. I would contend that changing the speed limit up to 40mph complete with the additional signage this would entail would see an overall reduction in the speeds used on this road and an increase in safety. It would also be something of a more logical step down from 70 on the M4 to the 30 limits that would arise at the Copthorne Roundabout.

Crazy parking, 9th April

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Mon, 04/09/2018 - 07:16
Cars park on the northern side of Trent right up to the junction with Severn Crescent. Frequently, there is a car protruding into the entrance which makes emerging from Severn Crescent very difficult and highly dangerous. We need a double yellow lounge around the corner for about 10 meters.
