Corner of Coronation Avenue and Blinco Lane, 25th September

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Tue, 09/25/2018 - 16:11
This light has not been working since around the middle of July. I originally reported it on 23/07/18 (ref 4001456) stating that it is a very dark and dangerous corner. After nothing had been done to fix it I attempted to speak to someone at South Bucks Council on 31/07/18. It took me about an hour and numerous calls to eventually speak to someone who said she would chase it up and get back to me. The next thing I had an email on the same day saying the report had been closed! The light still has not been fixed and with the darker nights approaching it will be even more dangerous.

Gully between gate to Caldicott and Mayfield, 25th September

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Tue, 09/25/2018 - 11:33
Because the gullies are blocked or broken, when it rains, in the cold weather, the water that runs down the side of the road is sprayed across the hill and freezes into a sheet of ice making it very dangerous.

1A Sefton Paddock, back garden, SL2 4PT, 23rd September

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Sun, 09/23/2018 - 11:32
With the weekend rain I am getting bad flooding in my back garden resulting from an underground drainage pipe being blocked and water escaping from a manhole. The water is surface water from the nearby road, the drain for which run across my property. Joe Connelly is aware of my case and arranged for the pipes to be jetted in Mar 2017. The problem has now re-occurred. Please let Joe Connelly know as he asked to be notified if the problem started again. I was informed earlier this year that the pipes would be jetted before winter but this has not been done!

This drain, which is outside the now defunct hibiscus beauty salon, has been blocked for months, because it hasn't rained for so long, it's remained hidden,it's now reared its ugly blocked head again. Water is running over it rather than into it. I commend this again to be sorted, please, Ta.

Enquiry/Progress Chase No. 46056548, 22nd September

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Sat, 09/22/2018 - 16:10
To the Amersham Depot - Thank you for contacting me quickly Friday morning 21st Sept., (I did reply virtually straight away but my email came back to me, it was only talking to Admin that I found I had to access “Fix my street” to be able to reply to you). Within minutes of receiving your email your Technician was at my door. We discussed the situation and he explained that he has cleared the existing gulley and there is not a problem with it and everything is working as it should. I said the problem therefore was clearly not with the existing gulley since we are still experiencing problems. It should be clear to anybody that the puddle is forming BETWEEN the existing gullies, which is the source of our complaint. He said there was a possibility that another gulley needs to be installed and married up to the existing one to deal with the problem. As he only controls the gulley he would need to contact the Capital Drainage Team to get this done, which he said he would do. I had already explained that our problem has only started happening since the road was resurfaced last year and that maybe that was where the problem lay. He and his colleague did agree that there was a possibility that the slope of the carriageway was not as it should be to enable the water to drain towards the existing gulley. He would not be able to do anything regarding this apart from report it to CNP (who apparently are the people responsible for the road surface), what does this mean regarding a) is this work likely to be re-done and b) when is it likely to be carried out. It should be noted at this point that it is not only the road that has a problem with flooding, but the pavement at this point is eroding to the degree that the water in the puddle is going across the pavement and now ingressing our property. There is also a safety problem since we live opposite a School and if this puddle freezes over in the winter then this could cause a falling hazard to the children and/or their parents. I did ask your Technician to get back in touch with me to let me know that he has been in touch with the above people and what is being done or going to be done to rectify the situation. The fact that we have been trying to get this issue resolved since February, 2018 I hope he does me the courtesy of keeping his word. He did take my telephone number as I had also said that my husband would wish to discuss this situation with him also. I have been informing numerous people at the Council about this problem since February, with notes supposedly being passed to your Technician, in an attempt to get the issue resolved before the winter sets in (see previous pictures sent) because we do not want a situation where the rain water runs down our driveway as it did last winter (our driveway slopes down to the house) and this winter cause flooding problems, to us and our neighbour, which could cause the Council even more problems. It seems a shame that up until now the right person to make the right decisions and get the right job done have not been available for contact to put this problem right, maybe this will now change. With respect, since your Technician is only "the gully man" we should be speaking to the "gutter man" or "pavement man" since that seems to be more of a problem than the gulley Regards,

Top end of Blackpond Lane just before the Doctors surgery, 22nd September

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Sat, 09/22/2018 - 15:40
There are several potholes along the stretch of Blackpond Lane approaching the Doctors Surgery. The problem is made worse as: 1. There is no pavement along this stretch. 2. There a number of elderly people, one or two with walking aids, that walk along Blackpond Lane to visit the Doctors and the Shops and there is no way to avoid the uneven surfaces. I have been informed that one elderly lady took a tumble when her walking aid overturned. 2. For cars, motor cyclists, pedal bike cyclists, mothers with prams and children and the general public, there is often have no way round the patches of poor road surface as there are usually cars parked along side the problem area making it impossible to avoid it. 3. No matter which direction you approach the potholes there is no way the manoeuvre round them. It is particularly bad at night time when the holes become almost "invisible". I am aware that this problem has been reported before and that someone for the Council has reviewed the situation, but I cannot understand why this problem has been left to become more unsafe. Two of the pothole are now inches deep.

Wexham Street near to Rowley Lane alongside the 30mph sign., 21st September

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Fri, 09/21/2018 - 16:07
Since Wexham Street was re-surfaced last year a dip across the whole width of the road has appeared. It has got progressively worse since then and has now got to the point where it is likely to cause damage to vehicles suspension. I feel that this possibility is so great that I now deliberately brake and slow down to pass through the depression to minimise any possible damage to my car. I also feel that other cars, particularly driven by strangers, who will be travelling at higher speeds may well lose control of their vehicles, particularly in wet or icy conditions, because the depression if taken at speed will cause them to ‘bounce ‘ out of control.
