Duffield Lane, Stoke Poges, 18th July

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Wed, 07/18/2018 - 13:49
Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for arranging verge cutting on Duffield Lane. I have to report though that the job not performed, in my mind, to a satisfactory standard. In no order of priority the issues are: 1. Two tree branches were cut which needed cutting but all the cut branches were pilled into the drainage channels that run down either side of the Lane. I personally have cleared some of these branches out of the channels but as soon as it rains these branches would prevent flow and create additional problems of flooding and potential damage to the road surface. Solution - the branches should have been taken away. 2. Verge cutting only seems to trim the grass on the inside of the verge. There are many small trees that have taken root on the verges and these will develop into large trees over time, Solution- ensure that these small saplings are removed during verge cutting. I myself attempt to clear the drainage channels of debris, rubbish and indeed regularly 'rod' the culverts to ensure water runs freely but the concil should ensure that the verge cutting is done properly to ensure that the drainage channels are not blocked. Yours sincerly, Tim Hanson, Duffield Farm

One deep pothole and many others all along the close. The whole road is a disgrace and is hardly ever maintained by the Council. The present condition has been so for a good 2 years.

Duffield Lane from Neville Close towards Templewood Lane, 18th July

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Wed, 07/18/2018 - 09:20
I would like to report the overgrown hedges in Duffield Lane and the problems they are causing for large and high sided vehicles. Recently the council started hedge-cutting in Duffield Lane but only did part of the road - from Rogers Lane end to Neville Close. No other work has taken place from Neville Close through to the junction with Templewood Lane. No explanation has been given as to why only this section was done. Over the two months, there have been numerous tractors along the road heading towards Templewood Lane, fully loaded with bales of hay. The height of the loaded tractors mean the overhanging hedges brush against the hay, resulting in a constant channel of hay along the roadside and into the ditches. If the hedges were well-maintained this would not be causing such a problem. Even if it is the responsibility of the landowner to maintain the hedge, the Council is responsible for the maintenance of the ditches and road itself. The additional amount of debris in the road will only cause problems in the future. It has never been a problem in the 10 years we have lived here. Please would someone from the appropriate Council department visit Duffield Lane and assess the situation? I would be grateful for a response as to what action will be taken. Thank you.

As shown on map location, 17th July

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Tue, 07/17/2018 - 23:54
A deep pothole on the left side of the lane adjacent to a manhole and very difficult to notice while driving, with sharp edge similar to a kerb against the direction of driving, deep as a coke can which I have used to give an idea - please see photo. As result I have sustained a damage to my wheel and tyre going over it yesterday. For this I would like to make a claim - please let me know where to send. Thank you.

There is a dangerous stile on the footpath going east from the B416 opposite Duffield Park towards Wexham Park Hospital. There is a wobbly vertical post and two large nails sticking out of the stile one on each side. Please tell me how I can get this message to the department that deals with footpaths. It has nothing to do with hedges and is near Duffield Park, not Church road.

Wrong Traffic light phasing - traffic exiting Clewer Hill Road (at junction with Winkfield Road/St Leonards Road, near Prince Albert Pub) now only get a few seconds of green light - only long enough for about 3 or 4 cars to move. Traffic backed up Clewer Hill Road past Hatch Lane (especially in the morning). Please urgently fix this to allow better priority and flow of traffic for Windsor residents exiting Clewer Hill Road

Temporary lights for no reason, 15th July

Fix My Street Maidenhead - Sun, 07/15/2018 - 19:48
Temporary lights been there all week, road coned off on one side for approx 5-10 metres. I pulled over and checked it out, no holes, floods or anything to suggest that any work is going on. Earlier in the week saw an old audi a6 parked within the cones, with a guy sleeping in the car.
